Tried the Fein scraper to remove the wallpaper I is really good with the 1950 wallpaper but is not good for the paper attached with older methods. The DIF gel seems to work well even on the 120 year old wallpaper.

Found some lathe out in the garage. Filled the hole next the heat duct with foam. I believe it was open for the older heating system. I still need to trim the plaster to install the electrical box. The lathe will be needed to support the wire mesh all the way across the opening. This is the main feed for the South wall.
